21-1 Then came near the heads of fathers’ houses of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel; 時にレビの族長たちは、祭司エレアザル、ヌンの子ヨシュアおよびイスラエルの部族の族長たちのもとにきて、
21-2 and they spake unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, Jehovah commanded Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle. カナンの地のシロで彼らに言った、「主はかつて、われわれに住むべき町々を与えることと、それに属する放牧地を、家畜のために与えることを、モーセによって命じられました」。
21-3 And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of Jehovah, these cities with their suburbs. それでイスラエルの人々は、主の命にしたがって、自分たちの嗣業のうちから、次の町々と、その放牧地とを、レビびとに与えた。
21-4 And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of the Simeonites, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities. まずコハテびとの氏族のために、くじを引いた。祭司アロンの子孫であるこれらのレビびとは、くじによって、ユダの部族、シメオンの部族、およびベニヤミンの部族のうちから、十三の町を獲た。
21-5 And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities. その他のコハテびとは、くじによって、エフライムの部族の氏族、ダンの部族、およびマナセの半部族のうちから、十の町を獲た。
21-6 And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities. またゲルションびとは、くじによって、イッサカルの部族の氏族、アセルの部族、ナフタリの部族、およびバシャンにあるマナセの半部族のうちから、十三の町を獲た。
21-7 The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities. またメラリびとは、その氏族にしたがって、ルベンの部族、ガドの部族、およびゼブルンの部族のうちから、十二の町を獲た。
21-8 And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as Jehovah commanded by Moses. イスラエルの人々は、主がモーセによって命じられたとおりに、これらの町と、その放牧地とを、くじによって、レビびとに与えた。
21-9 And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name: まずユダの部族と、シメオンの部族のうちから、次に名をあげる町々を与えた。
21-10 and they were for the children of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi; for theirs was the first lot. これらはレビびとに属するコハテびとの氏族の一つである、アロンの子孫に与えられた。最初のくじが彼らに当ったからである。
21-11 And they gave them Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak (the same is Hebron), in the hill-country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it. すなわちユダの山地にあるキリアテ・アルバすなわちヘブロンおよびその周囲の放牧地を彼らに与えた。このアルバはアナクの父であった。
21-12 But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession. ただし、この町の畑と、それに属する村々とは、すでにエフンネの子カレブが、それを受けて所有していた。
21-13 And unto the children of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Libnah with its suburbs, 祭司アロンの子孫に与えたのは、人を殺した者の、のがれる町であるヘブロンとその放牧地、リブナとその放牧地、
21-14 and Jattir with its suburbs, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs, ヤッテルとその放牧地、エシテモアとその放牧地、
21-15 and Holon with its suburbs, and Debir with its suburbs, ホロンとその放牧地、デビルとその放牧地、
21-16 and Ain with its suburbs, and Juttah with its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with its suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes. アインとその放牧地、ユッタとその放牧地、ベテシメシとその放牧地など、九つの町であって、この二つの部族のうちから分け与えたものである。
21-17 And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its suburbs, Geba with its suburbs, またベニヤミンの部族のうちから、ギベオンとその放牧地、ゲバとその放牧地、
21-18 Anathoth with its suburbs, and Almon with its suburbs; four cities. アナトテとその放牧地、アルモンとその放牧地など、四つの町を与えた。
21-19 All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs. アロンの子孫である祭司たちの町は、合わせて十三であって、それに属する放牧地があった。
21-20 And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, even the rest of the children of Kohath, they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim. その他のコハテびとであるレビびとの氏族は、くじによって、エフライムの部族のうちから町を獲た。
21-21 And they gave them Shechem with its suburbs in the hill-country of Ephraim, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Gezer with its suburbs, すなわち、その町は、人を殺したものの、のがれる町であるエフライムの山地のシケムとその放牧地、ゲゼルとその放牧地、
21-22 and Kibzaim with its suburbs, and Beth-horon with its suburbs; four cities. キブザイムとその放牧地、ベテホロンとその放牧地など、四つの町である。
21-23 And out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its suburbs, Gibbethon with its suburbs, またダンの部族のうちから分け与えた町は、エルテケとその放牧地、ギベトンとその放牧地、
21-24 Aijalon with its suburbs, Gath-rimmon with its suburbs; four cities. アヤロンとその放牧地、ガテリンモンとその放牧地など、四つの町である。
21-25 And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with its suburbs; two cities. またマナセの半部族のうちから分け与えた町は、タアナクとその放牧地、およびガテリンモンとその放牧地など、二つの町である。
21-26 All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Kohath were ten with their suburbs. その他のコハテびとの氏族の町は、合わせて十であって、それに属する放牧地があった。
21-27 And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Be-eshterah with its suburbs; two cities. ゲルションびとであるレビびとの氏族の一つに与えられた町は、マナセの半部族のうちからは、人を殺した者の、のがれる町であるバシャンのゴランとその放牧地、およびベエシテラとその放牧地など、二つの町である。
21-28 And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs, イッサカルの部族のうちからは、キションとその放牧地、ダベラテとその放牧地、
21-29 Jarmuth with its suburbs, En-gannim with its suburbs; four cities. ヤルムテとその放牧地、エンガンニムとその放牧地など、四つの町である。
21-30 And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its suburbs, Abdon with its suburbs, アセルの部族のうちからは、ミシャルとその放牧地、アブドンとその放牧地、
21-31 Helkath with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs; four cities. ヘルカテとその放牧地、レホブとその放牧地など、四つの町である。
21-32 And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Hammoth-dor with its suburbs, and Kartan with its suburbs; three cities. ナフタリの部族のうちからは、人を殺した者の、のがれる町であるガリラヤのケデシとその放牧地、ハンモテ・ドルとその放牧地、カルタンとその放牧地など、三つの町である。
21-33 All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs. ゲルションびとが、その氏族にしたがって獲た町は、合わせて十三の町であって、それに属する放牧地があった。
21-34 And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with its suburbs, and Kartah with its suburbs, その他のレビびとである、メラリびとの氏族に与えられた町は、ゼブルンの部族のうちからは、ヨクネアムとその放牧地、カルタとその放牧地、
21-35 Dimnah with its suburbs, Nahalal with its suburbs; four cities. デムナとその放牧地、ナハラルとその放牧地など、四つの町である。
21-36 And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with its suburbs, and Jahaz with its suburbs, ルベンの部族のうちからは、ベゼルとその放牧地、ヤハヅとその放牧地、
21-37 Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs; four cities. ケデモテとその放牧地、メパアテとその放牧地など、四つの町である。
21-38 And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with its suburbs, ガドの部族のうちからは、人を殺した者の、のがれる町であるギレアデのラモテとその放牧地、マハナイムとその放牧地、
21-39 Heshbon with its suburbs, Jazer with its suburbs; four cities in all. ヘシボンとその放牧地、ヤゼルとその放牧地など、合わせて四つの町である。
21-40 All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities. これらはみな、ほかのレビびとであるメラリびとが、その氏族にしたがって、くじをもって獲た町であって、合わせて十二であった。
21-41 All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs. イスラエルの人々の所有のうちに、レビびとが持った町々は、合わせて四十八であって、それに属する放牧地があった。
21-42 These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus it was with all these cities. これらの町々は、それぞれその周囲に放牧地があった。これらの町々はみなそうであった。
21-43 So Jehovah gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. このように、主が、イスラエルに与えると、その先祖たちに誓われた地を、ことごとく与えられたので、彼らはそれを獲て、そこに住んだ。
21-44 And Jehovah gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; Jehovah delivered all their enemies into their hand. 主は彼らの先祖たちに誓われたように、四方に安息を賜わったので、すべての敵のうち、ひとりも彼らに手向かう者はなかった。主が敵をことごとく彼らの手に渡されたからである。
21-45 There failed not aught of any good thing which Jehovah had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. 主がイスラエルの家に約束されたすべての良いことは、一つとしてたがわず、みな実現した。
