| 12-1 |
And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, |
主はまたモーセに言われた、 |
| 12-2 |
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman conceive seed, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean. |
「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『女がもし身ごもって男の子を産めば、七日のあいだ汚れる。すなわち、月のさわりの日かずほど汚れるであろう。 |

And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. |
八日目にはその子の前の皮に割礼を施さなければならない。 |
| 12-4 |
And she shall continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled. |
その女はなお、血の清めに三十三日を経なければならない。その清めの日の満ちるまでは、聖なる物に触れてはならない。また聖なる所にはいってはならない。 |
| 12-5 |
But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days. |
もし女の子を産めば、二週間、月のさわりと同じように汚れる。その女はなお、血の清めに六十六日を経なければならない。 |

And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb a year old for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest: |
男の子または女の子についての清めの日が満ちるとき、女は燔祭のために一歳の小羊、罪祭のために家ばとのひな、あるいは山ばとを、会見の幕屋の入口の、祭司のもとに、携えてこなければならない。 |

and he shall offer it before Jehovah, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth, whether a male or a female. |
祭司はこれを主の前にささげて、その女のために、あがないをしなければならない。こうして女はその出血の汚れが清まるであろう。これは男の子または女の子を産んだ女のためのおきてである。 |

And if her means suffice not for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons; the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering: and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean. |
もしその女が小羊に手の届かないときは、山ばと二羽か、家ばとのひな二羽かを取って、一つを燔祭、一つを罪祭とし、祭司はその女のために、あがないをしなければならない。こうして女は清まるであろう』」。 |
