18-1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 主はまたモーセに言われた、
18-2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am Jehovah your God. 「イスラエルの人々に言いなさい、『わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。
18-3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do; neither shall ye walk in their statutes. あなたがたの住んでいたエジプトの国の習慣を見習ってはならない。またわたしがあなたがたを導き入れるカナンの国の習慣を見習ってはならない。また彼らの定めに歩んではならない。
18-4 Mine ordinances shall ye do, and my statutes shall ye keep, to walk therein: I am Jehovah your God. わたしのおきてを行い、わたしの定めを守り、それに歩まなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。
18-5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and mine ordinances; which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am Jehovah. あなたがたはわたしの定めとわたしのおきてを守らなければならない。もし人が、これを行うならば、これによって生きるであろう。わたしは主である。
18-6 None of you shall approach to any that are near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am Jehovah. あなたがたは、だれも、その肉親の者に近づいて、これを犯してはならない。わたしは主である。
18-7 The nakedness of thy father, even the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. あなたの母を犯してはならない。それはあなたの父をはずかしめることだからである。彼女はあなたの母であるから、これを犯してはならない。
18-8 The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father’s nakedness. あなたの父の妻を犯してはならない。それはあなたの父をはずかしめることだからである。
18-9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or the daughter of thy mother, whether born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. あなたの姉妹、すなわちあなたの父の娘にせよ、母の娘にせよ、家に生れたのと、よそに生れたのとを問わず、これを犯してはならない。
18-10 The nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or of thy daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness. あなたのむすこの娘、あるいは、あなたの娘の娘を犯してはならない。それはあなた自身をはずかしめることだからである。
18-11 The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. あなたの父の妻があなたの父によって産んだ娘は、あなたの姉妹であるから、これを犯してはならない。
18-12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: she is thy father’s near kinswoman. あなたの父の姉妹を犯してはならない。彼女はあなたの父の肉親だからである。
18-13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: for she is thy mother’s near kinswoman. またあなたの母の姉妹を犯してはならない。彼女はあなたの母の肉親だからである。
18-14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt. あなたの父の兄弟の妻を犯し、父の兄弟をはずかしめてはならない。彼女はあなたのおばだからである。
18-15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter-in-law: she is thy son’s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. あなたの嫁を犯してはならない。彼女はあなたのむすこの妻であるから、これを犯してはならない。
18-16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife: it is thy brother’s nakedness. あなたの兄弟の妻を犯してはならない。それはあなたの兄弟をはずかしめることだからである。
18-17 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter; thou shalt not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; they are near kinswomen: it is wickedness. あなたは女とその娘とを一緒に犯してはならない。またその女のむすこの娘、またはその娘の娘を取って、これを犯してはならない。彼らはあなたの肉親であるから、これは悪事である。
18-18 And thou shalt not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival to her , to uncover her nakedness, besides the other in her life-time. あなたは妻のなお生きているうちにその姉妹を取って、同じく妻となし、これを犯してはならない。
18-19 And thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is impure by her uncleanness. あなたは月のさわりの不浄にある女に近づいて、これを犯してはならない。
18-20 And thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbor’s wife, to defile thyself with her. 隣の妻と交わり、彼女によって身を汚してはならない。
18-21 And thou shalt not give any of thy seed to make them pass through the fire to Molech; neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah. あなたの子どもをモレクにささげてはならない。またあなたの神の名を汚してはならない。わたしは主である。
18-22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. あなたは女と寝るように男と寝てはならない。これは憎むべきことである。
18-23 And thou shalt not lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie down thereto: it is confusion. あなたは獣と交わり、これによって身を汚してはならない。また女も獣の前に立って、これと交わってはならない。これは道にはずれたことである。
18-24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you; あなたがたはこれらのもろもろの事によって身を汚してはならない。わたしがあなたがたの前から追い払う国々の人は、これらのもろもろの事によって汚れ、
18-25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomiteth out her inhabitants. その地もまた汚れている。ゆえに、わたしはその悪のためにこれを罰し、その地もまたその住民を吐き出すのである。
18-26 Ye therefore shall keep my statutes and mine ordinances, and shall not do any of these abominations; neither the home-born, nor the stranger that sojourneth among you; ゆえに、あなたがたはわたしの定めとわたしのおきてを守り、これらのもろもろの憎むべき事の一つでも行ってはならない。国に生れた者も、あなたがたのうちに宿っている寄留者もそうである。
18-27 (for all these abominations have the men of the land done, that were before you, and the land is defiled); あなたがたの先にいたこの地の人々は、これらのもろもろの憎むべき事を行ったので、その地も汚れたからである。
18-28 that the land vomit not you out also, when ye defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. これは、あなたがたがこの地を汚して、この地があなたがたの先にいた民を吐き出したように、あなたがたをも吐き出すことのないためである。
18-29 For whosoever shall do any of these abominations, even the souls that do them shall be cut off from among their people. これらのもろもろの憎むべき事の一つでも行う者があれば、これを行う人は、だれでもその民のうちから断たれるであろう。
18-30 Therefore shall ye keep my charge, that ye practise not any of these abominable customs, which were practised before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am Jehovah your God. それゆえに、あなたがたはわたしの言いつけを守り、先に行われたこれらの憎むべき風習の一つをも行ってはならない。またこれによって身を汚してはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である』」。
