| 19-1 |
And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, |
主はモーセに言われた、 |
| 19-2 |
Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy; for I Jehovah your God am holy. |
「イスラエルの人々の全会衆に言いなさい、『あなたがたの神、主なるわたしは、聖であるから、あなたがたも聖でなければならない。 |
| 19-3 |
Ye shall fear every man his mother, and his father; and ye shall keep my sabbaths: I am Jehovah your God. |
あなたがたは、おのおのその母とその父とをおそれなければならない。またわたしの安息日を守らなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-4 |
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Jehovah your God. |
むなしい神々に心を寄せてはならない。また自分のために神々を鋳て造ってはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-5 |
And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah, ye shall offer it that ye may be accepted. |
酬恩祭の犠牲を主にささげるときは、あなたがたが受け入れられるように、それをささげなければならない。 |
| 19-6 |
It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if aught remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire. |
それは、ささげた日と、その翌日とに食べ、三日目まで残ったものは、それを火で焼かなければならない。 |
| 19-7 |
And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted: |
もし三日目に、少しでも食べるならば、それは忌むべきものとなって、あなたは受け入れられないであろう。 |
| 19-8 |
but every one that eateth it shall bear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the holy thing of Jehovah: and that soul shall be cut off from his people. |
それを食べる者は、主の聖なる物を汚すので、そのとがを負わなければならない。その人は民のうちから断たれるであろう。 |
| 19-9 |
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly reap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the gleaning of thy harvest. |
あなたがたの地の実のりを刈り入れるときは、畑のすみずみまで刈りつくしてはならない。またあなたの刈入れの落ち穂を拾ってはならない。 |
| 19-10 |
And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather the fallen fruit of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am Jehovah your God. |
あなたのぶどう畑の実を取りつくしてはならない。またあなたのぶどう畑に落ちた実を拾ってはならない。貧しい者と寄留者とのために、これを残しておかなければならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-11 |
Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another. |
あなたがたは盗んではならない。欺いてはならない。互に偽ってはならない。 |
| 19-12 |
And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah. |
わたしの名により偽り誓って、あなたがたの神の名を汚してはならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-13 |
Thou shalt not oppress thy neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not abide with thee all night until the morning. |
あなたの隣人をしえたげてはならない。また、かすめてはならない。日雇人の賃銀を明くる朝まで、あなたのもとにとどめておいてはならない。 |
| 19-14 |
Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind; but thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah. |
耳しいを、のろってはならない。目しいの前につまずく物を置いてはならない。あなたの神を恐れなければならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-15 |
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor. |
さばきをするとき、不正を行ってはならない。貧しい者を片よってかばい、力ある者を曲げて助けてはならない。ただ正義をもって隣人をさばかなければならない。 |
| 19-16 |
Thou shalt not go up and down as a talebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbor: I am Jehovah. |
民のうちを行き巡って、人の悪口を言いふらしてはならない。あなたの隣人の血にかかわる偽証をしてはならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-17 |
Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart: thou shalt surely rebuke thy neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. |
あなたは心に兄弟を憎んではならない。あなたの隣人をねんごろにいさめて、彼のゆえに罪を身に負ってはならない。 |
| 19-18 |
Thou shalt not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people; but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am Jehovah. |
あなたはあだを返してはならない。あなたの民の人々に恨みをいだいてはならない。あなた自身のようにあなたの隣人を愛さなければならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-19 |
Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come upon thee a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together. |
あなたがたはわたしの定めを守らなければならない。あなたの家畜に異なった種をかけてはならない。あなたの畑に二種の種をまいてはならない。二種の糸の混ぜ織りの衣服を身につけてはならない。 |
| 19-20 |
And whosoever lieth carnally with a woman, that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. |
だれでも、人と婚約のある女奴隷で、まだあがなわれず、自由を与えられていない者と寝て交わったならば、彼らふたりは罰を受ける。しかし、殺されることはない。彼女は自由の女ではないからである。 |
| 19-21 |
And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto Jehovah, unto the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering. |
しかし、その男は愆祭を主に携えてこなければならない。すなわち、愆祭の雄羊を、会見の幕屋の入口に連れてこなければならない。 |
| 19-22 |
And the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Jehovah for his sin which he hath sinned: and the sin which he hath sinned shall be forgiven him. |
そして、祭司は彼の犯した罪のためにその愆祭の雄羊をもって、主の前に彼のために、あがないをするであろう。こうして彼の犯した罪はゆるされるであろう。 |
| 19-23 |
And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised unto you; it shall not be eaten. |
あなたがたが、かの地にはいって、もろもろのくだものの木を植えるときは、その実はまだ割礼をうけないものと、見なさなければならない。すなわち、それは三年の間あなたがたには、割礼のないものであって、食べてはならない。 |
| 19-24 |
But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof shall be holy, for giving praise unto Jehovah. |
四年目には、そのすべての実を聖なる物とし、それをさんびの供え物として主にささげなければならない。 |
| 19-25 |
And in the fifth year shall ye eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield unto you the increase thereof: I am Jehovah your God. |
しかし五年目には、あなたがたはその実を食べることができるであろう。こうするならば、それはあなたがたのために、多くの実を結ぶであろう。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-26 |
Ye shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantments, nor practise augury. |
あなたがたは何をも血のままで食べてはならない。また占いをしてはならない。魔法を行ってはならない。 |
| 19-27 |
Ye shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard. |
あなたがたのびんの毛を切ってはならない。ひげの両端をそこなってはならない。 |
| 19-28 |
Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am Jehovah. |
死人のために身を傷つけてはならない。また身に入墨をしてはならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-29 |
Profane not thy daughter, to make her a harlot; lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness. |
あなたの娘に遊女のわざをさせて、これを汚してはならない。これはみだらな事が国に行われ、悪事が地に満ちないためである。 |
| 19-30 |
Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Jehovah. |
あなたがたはわたしの安息日を守り、わたしの聖所を敬わなければならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-31 |
Turn ye not unto them that have familiar spirits, nor unto the wizards; seek them not out, to be defiled by them: I am Jehovah your God. |
あなたがたは口寄せ、または占い師のもとにおもむいてはならない。彼らに問うて汚されてはならない。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-32 |
Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and thou shalt fear thy God: I am Jehovah. |
あなたは白髪の人の前では、起立しなければならない。また老人を敬い、あなたの神を恐れなければならない。わたしは主である。 |
| 19-33 |
And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not do him wrong. |
もし他国人があなたがたの国に寄留して共にいるならば、これをしえたげてはならない。 |
| 19-34 |
The stranger that sojourneth with you shall be unto you as the home-born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God. |
あなたがたと共にいる寄留の他国人を、あなたがたと同じ国に生れた者のようにし、あなた自身のようにこれを愛さなければならない。あなたがたもかつてエジプトの国で他国人であったからである。わたしはあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-35 |
Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. |
あなたがたは、さばきにおいても、物差しにおいても、はかりにおいても、ますにおいても、不正を行ってはならない。 |
| 19-36 |
Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall ye have: I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. |
あなたがたは正しいてんびん、正しいおもり石、正しいエパ、正しいヒンを使わなければならない。わたしは、あなたがたをエジプトの国から導き出したあなたがたの神、主である。 |
| 19-37 |
And ye shall observe all my statutes, and all mine ordinances, and do them: I am Jehovah. |
あなたがたはわたしのすべての定めと、わたしのすべてのおきてを守って、これを行わなければならない。わたしは主である』」。 |
