For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. |
万軍の主は言われる、見よ、炉のように燃える日が来る。その時すべて高ぶる者と、悪を行う者とは、わらのようになる。その来る日は、彼らを焼き尽して、根も枝も残さない。 |

But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings; and ye shall go forth, and gambol as calves of the stall. |
しかしわが名を恐れるあなたがたには、義の太陽がのぼり、その翼には、いやす力を備えている。あなたがたは牛舎から出る子牛のように外に出て、とびはねる。 |

And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make, saith Jehovah of hosts. |
また、あなたがたは悪人を踏みつけ、わたしが事を行う日に、彼らはあなたがたの足の裏の下にあって、灰のようになると、万軍の主は言われる。 |

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances. |
あなたがたは、わがしもべモーセの律法、すなわちわたしがホレブで、イスラエル全体のために、彼に命じた定めとおきてとを覚えよ。 |

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Jehovah come. |

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers; lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. |
彼は父の心をその子供たちに向けさせ、子供たちの心をその父に向けさせる。これはわたしが来て、のろいをもってこの国を撃つことのないようにするためである」。 |
