8-1 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 主はモーセに言われた、
8-2 Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the candlestick. 「アロンに言いなさい、『あなたがともし火をともす時は、七つのともし火で燭台の前方を照すようにしなさい』」。
8-3 And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof so as to give light in front of the candlestick, as Jehovah commanded Moses. アロンはそのようにした。すなわち、主がモーセに命じられたように、燭台の前方を照すように、ともし火をともした。
8-4 And this was the work of the candlestick, beaten work of gold; unto the base thereof, and unto the flowers thereof, it was beaten work: according unto the pattern which Jehovah had showed Moses, so he made the candlestick. 燭台の造りは次のとおりである。それは金の打ち物で、その台もその花も共に打物造りであった。モーセは主に示された型にしたがって、そのようにその燭台を造った。
8-5 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 主はまたモーセに言われた、
8-6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them. 「レビびとをイスラエルの人々のうちから取って、彼らを清めなさい。
8-7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of expiation upon them, and let them cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves. あなたはこのようにして彼らを清めなければならない。すなわち、罪を清める水を彼らに注ぎかけ、彼らに全身をそらせ、衣服を洗わせて、身を清めさせ、
8-8 Then let them take a young bullock, and its meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil; and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin-offering. そして彼らに若い雄牛一頭と、油を混ぜた麦粉の素祭とを取らせなさい。あなたはまた、ほかに若い雄牛を罪祭のために取らなければならない。
8-9 And thou shalt present the Levites before the tent of meeting: and thou shalt assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel: そして、あなたはレビびとを会見の幕屋の前に連れてきて、イスラエルの人々の全会衆を集め、
8-10 and thou shalt present the Levites before Jehovah. And the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites: レビびとを主の前に進ませ、イスラエルの人々をして、手をレビびとの上に置かせなければならない。
8-11 and Aaron shall offer the Levites before Jehovah for a wave-offering, on the behalf of the children of Israel, that it may be theirs to do the service of Jehovah. そしてアロンは、レビびとをイスラエルの人々のささげる揺祭として、主の前にささげなければならない。これは彼らに主の務をさせるためである。
8-12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, unto Jehovah, to make atonement for the Levites. それからあなたはレビびとをして、手をかの雄牛の頭の上に置かせ、その一つを罪祭とし、一つを燔祭として主にささげ、レビびとのために罪のあがないをしなければならない。
8-13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for a wave-offering unto Jehovah. あなたはレビびとを、アロンとその子たちの前に立たせ、これを揺祭として主にささげなければならない。
8-14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be mine. こうして、あなたはレビびとをイスラエルの人々のうちから分かち、レビびとをわたしのものとしなければならない。
8-15 And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tent of meeting: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for a wave-offering. こうして後レビびとは会見の幕屋にはいって務につくことができる。あなたは彼らを清め、彼らをささげて揺祭としなければならない。
8-16 For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me. 彼らはイスラエルの人々のうちから、全くわたしにささげられたものだからである。イスラエルの人々のうちの初めに生れた者、すなわち、すべてのういごの代りに、わたしは彼らを取ってわたしのものとした。
8-17 For all the first-born among the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself. イスラエルの人々のうちのういごは、人も獣も、みなわたしのものだからである。わたしはエジプトの地で、すべてのういごを撃ち殺した日に、彼らを聖別してわたしのものとした。
8-18 And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel. それでわたしはイスラエルの人々のうちの、すべてのういごの代りにレビびとを取った。
8-19 And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel; that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary. わたしはイスラエルの人々のうちからレビびとを取って、アロンとその子たちに与え、彼らに会見の幕屋で、イスラエルの人々に代って務をさせ、またイスラエルの人々のために罪のあがないをさせるであろう。これはイスラエルの人々が、聖所に近づいて、イスラエルの人々のうちに災の起ることのないようにするためである」。
8-20 Thus did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the Levites: according unto all that Jehovah commanded Moses touching the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them. モーセとアロン、およびイスラエルの人々の全会衆は、すべて主がレビびとの事につき、モーセに命じられた所にしたがって、レビびとに行った、すなわち、イスラエルの人々は、そのように彼らに行った。
8-21 And the Levites purified themselves from sin, and they washed their clothes: and Aaron offered them for a wave-offering before Jehovah; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them. そこでレビびとは身を清め、その衣服を洗った。アロンは彼らを主の前にささげて揺祭とした。アロンはまた彼らのために、罪のあがないをして彼らを清めた。
8-22 And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons: as Jehovah had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them. こうして後、レビびとは会見の幕屋にはいって、アロンとその子たちに仕えて務をした。すなわち、彼らはレビびとの事について、主がモーセに命じられた所にしたがって、そのように彼らに行った。
8-23 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying, 主はまたモーセに言われた、
8-24 This is that which belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service in the work of the tent of meeting: 「レビびとは次のようにしなければならない。すなわち、二十五歳以上の者は務につき、会見の幕屋の働きをしなければならない。
8-25 and from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the work, and shall serve no more, しかし、五十歳からは務の働きを退き、重ねて務をしてはならない。
8-26 but shall minister with their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charges. ただ、会見の幕屋でその兄弟たちの務の助けをすることができる。しかし、務をしてはならない。あなたがレビびとにその務をさせるには、このようにしなければならない」。
