Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh. |
イスラエルのすべての部族はヘブロンにいるダビデのもとにきて言った、「われわれは、あなたの骨肉です。 |

In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was thou that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt be shepherd of my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel. |
先にサウルがわれわれの王であった時にも、あなたはイスラエルを率いて出入りされました。そして主はあなたに、『あなたはわたしの民イスラエルを牧するであろう。またあなたはイスラエルの君となるであろう』と言われました」。 |

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah: and they anointed David king over Israel. |
このようにイスラエルの長老たちが皆、ヘブロンにいる王のもとにきたので、ダビデ王はヘブロンで主の前に彼らと契約を結んだ。そして彼らはダビデに油を注いでイスラエルの王とした。 |

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. |
ダビデは王となったとき三十歳で、四十年の間、世を治めた。 |

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah. |
すなわちヘブロンで七年六か月ユダを治め、またエルサレムで三十三年、全イスラエルとユダを治めた。 |

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither; thinking, David cannot come in hither. |
王とその従者たちとはエルサレムへ行って、その地の住民エブスびとを攻めた。エブスびとはダビデに言った、「あなたはけっして、ここに攻め入ることはできない。かえって、めしいや足なえでも、あなたを追い払うであろう」。彼らが「ダビデはここに攻め入ることはできない」と思ったからである。 |

Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David. |
ところがダビデはシオンの要害を取った。これがダビデの町である。 |

And David said on that day, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and smite the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul. Wherefore they say, There are the blind and the lame; he cannot come into the house. |
その日ダビデは、「だれでもエブスびとを撃とうとする人は、水をくみ上げる縦穴を上って行って、ダビデが心に憎んでいる足なえやめしいを撃て」と言った。それゆえに人々は、「めしいや足なえは、宮にはいってはならない」と言いならわしている。 |

And David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward. |
ダビデはその要害に住んで、これをダビデの町と名づけた。またダビデはミロから内の周囲に城壁を築いた。 |

And David waxed greater and greater; for Jehovah, the God of hosts, was with him. |
こうしてダビデはますます大いなる者となり、かつ万軍の神、主が彼と共におられた。 |
| 5-11 |
And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house. |
ツロの王ヒラムはダビデに使者をつかわして、香柏および大工と石工を送った。彼らはダビデのために家を建てた。 |
| 5-12 |
And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake. |
そしてダビデは主が自分を堅く立ててイスラエルの王とされたこと、主がその民イスラエルのためにその王国を興されたことを悟った。 |
| 5-13 |
And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David. |
ダビデはヘブロンからきて後、さらにエルサレムで妻とそばめを入れたので、むすこと娘がまたダビデに生れた。 |
| 5-14 |
And these are the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, |
エルサレムで彼に生れた者の名は次のとおりである。シャンムア、ショバブ、ナタン、ソロモン、 |

and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia, |
イブハル、エリシュア、ネペグ、ヤピア、 |
| 5-16 |
and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet. |
エリシャマ、エリアダ、およびエリペレテ。 |
| 5-17 |
And when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold. |
さてペリシテびとは、ダビデが油を注がれてイスラエルの王になったことを聞き、みな上ってきてダビデを捜したが、ダビデはそれを聞いて要害に下って行った。 |

Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. |
ペリシテびとはきて、レパイムの谷に広がっていた。 |
| 5-19 |
And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said unto David, Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand. |
ダビデは主に問うて言った、「ペリシテびとに向かって上るべきでしょうか。あなたは彼らをわたしの手に渡されるでしょうか」。主はダビデに言われた、「上るがよい。わたしはかならずペリシテびとをあなたの手に渡すであろう」。 |

And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim. |
そこでダビデはバアル・ペラジムへ行って、彼らをその所で撃ち破り、そして言った、「主は、破り出る水のように、敵をわたしの前に破られた」。それゆえにその所の名はバアル・ペラジムと呼ばれている。 |

And they left their images there; and David and his men took them away. |
ペリシテびとはその所に彼らの偶像を捨てて行ったので、ダビデとその従者たちはそれを運び去った。 |

And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim. |
ペリシテびとが、ふたたび上ってきて、レパイムの谷に広がったので、 |

And when David inquired of Jehovah, he said, Thou shalt not go up: make a circuit behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry-trees. |
ダビデは主に問うたが、主は言われた、「上ってはならない。彼らのうしろに回り、バルサムの木の前から彼らを襲いなさい。 |

And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then is Jehovah gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines. |
バルサムの木の上に行進の音が聞えたならば、あなたは奮い立たなければならない。その時、主があなたの前に出て、ペリシテびとの軍勢を撃たれるからである」。 |

And David did so, as Jehovah commanded him, and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gezer. |
ダビデは、主が命じられたようにして、ペリシテびとを撃ち、ゲバからゲゼルに及んだ。 |
